Coach Kevin O'Connell said Tuesday that Darrisaw is nursing a shoulder issue, Alec Lewis of The Athletic reports.
Darrisaw played all 52 of the Vikings' offensive snaps during Sunday's game at Detroit, but he hurt his shoulder somewhere along the way, and now his status for Week 9 is in doubt. His activity at practice will be worth monitoring when Minnesota releases its first official injury report of the week Thursday.
Head coach Kevin O'Connell said Monday that Murray has a sore hamstring and will undergo a full evaluation as the Vikings look to determine the extent of the issue, Alec Lewis of The Athletic reports.
O'Connell was non-committal about Murray being available for next Monday's game against the Bills, noting that the Vikings aren't "there yet," per Lewis. Added context regarding Murray's status will arrive no later than Thursday, when the Vikings post their first Week 9 practice report. If Murray is unable play versus Buffalo, Carson Wentz would be next in line to start at quarterback for Minnesota.
Jackson (quadriceps) has been ruled out for the rest of Sunday's game against the Lions.
Jackson sustained a quadriceps injury right before halftime, and medical staff have determined that he cannot return to Sunday's game. Harrison Smith should see more work on early downs in Jackson's stead.
Jackson (knee) was placed on injured reserve by the Vikings on Tuesday.
Jackson suffered a torn meniscus during Sunday's 15-10 win over Miami, and he was already set to miss the rest of the regular season, so Tuesday's move to the IR comes as no surprise. Joe Huber is the top candidate to take over as Minnesota's starting left guard in Jackson's absence.
The Vikings placed Oliver (biceps) on injured reserve Tuesday, Craig Peters of the team's official site reports.
Oliver's move to IR was expected after the tight end was diagnosed with a torn bicep Monday. The tight end will likely miss most, if not all, of the 2026 season as he recovers from surgery. T.J. Hockenson and Gavin Bartholomew are now the only tight ends on the Vikings' roster, meaning practice-squad elevations ahead of Week 4 will likely include at least one more option at the position. The Vikings signed linebacker Kyle Van Noy to the 53-man roster in a corresponding move.
The Vikings placed Samac (knee) on injured reserve Saturday, Craig Peters of the team's official site reports.
Samac appeared on the Vikings' injury report during Week 3 prep with a new knee injury. The backup center's issue must be significant, as he was promptly moved to IR. Samac will need to miss at least four games on IR before becoming eligible to return to the Vikings' active roster.
The Vikings placed Batty (knee) on injured reserve Sunday, Tom Pelissero of Netflix reports.
Batty suffered a torn ACL during Friday's preseason loss to the Broncos and will now be forced to miss the upcoming season. He logged 12 tackles (nine solo) across 12 games with Minnesota last season and will now shift his focus to getting healthy for the 2027 campaign.
Metellus recorded 13 tackles (six solo) and a defensed pass in a Week 8 defeat against Detroit.
Metellus led Minnesota in tackles and recorded a season-high mark in the process. He's been a consistent presence for the Vikings' tough defense this season, playing every defensive snap in six of the team's seven contests so far. Metellus is up to 50 stops through seven games, putting him on pace for the third triple-digit tackle campaign of his career.
Murphy registered 10 tackles (eight solo) in a loss to the Lions on Sunday.
Murphy tied for third on Minnesota in tackles on a day when four Vikings finished with double-digit stops. The tackle tally was Murphy's highest of the season and snapped a four-game stretch of posting three stops or fewer. The veteran cornerback is enjoying a nice campaign overall, as he's tallied three interceptions so far, tying for second in the NFL in that category.
Cashman finished Sunday's loss to Detroit with 10 tackles (five solo).
Cashman was one of four Vikings to notch double-digit stops in the team's first loss of the season. The veteran linebacker has recorded at least seven stops in each of his seven games this season and has registered double-digit tackles three times. He's well beyond pace for a fourth consecutive season of triple-digit tackles, as he already has 64 stops (including 4.5 sacks) through seven contests.
Smith recorded four tackles (two solo) including 0.5 sacks and an interception during Sunday's 16-10 win versus the Colts.
Smith sealed Minnesota's victory in Week 7 when he cut off a Daniel Jones pass intended for tight end Will Mallory with less than two minutes remaining in regulation. It was his first interception of the season, and the 40th of his illustrious career with the Vikings. He projects to play a rotational role again in Week 8 at Detroit.
