Campbell (neck) said Wednesday that he has full movement in his lower body and is making progress with movement in his upper body, Colton Pouncy of The Athletic reports.
Campbell had to be carted off the field on a spinal board after he took a hit to the head/neck area while making a tackle during Sunday's game versus the Vikings, and he remains in the hospital for evaluation. While updates from him and the Lions have been positive thus far, it still seems likely he'll be facing an extended absence, and barring something extraordinary, he'll at least be out in Week 9 at Miami.
Branch (concussion) was estimated as a limited participant on the Lions' official injury report Wednesday, Nolan Bianchi of The Detroit News reports.
Branch suffered a concussion during Sunday's game versus the Vikings, and now his status for Week 9 is in doubt. He'll need to clear the league's five-step concussion protocol before he'll be allowed to suit back up for game action, and his activity at practice Thursday and Friday could give some indication of any progress he makes ahead of Sunday's game at Miami.
St. Brown was a limited participant at Wednesday's walkthrough due to a rib injury, Nolan Bianchi of The Detroit News reports.
St. Brown made a brief exit during this past Sunday's win against the Vikings due to an undisclosed injury but was able to return, finishing with seven catches (on eight targets) for 46 yards and one carry for 10 yards. The nature of the health concern has been revealed, but his ability to practice in some capacity Wednesday generally bodes well for his status ahead of Sunday's game at Miami.
Reed (hip) is not expected to practice Wednesday, Nolan Bianchi of The Detroit News reports.
Reed suffered a hip injury late in the fourth quarter of Sunday's game against the Vikings and did not return to the contest. The cornerback's injury appears to be significant enough for Reed to be ruled out of practice a day ahead of time. It remains unclear whether or not the starting cornerback will participate in any practice sessions ahead of the team's Week 9 game against the Dolphins.
Saylors (neck) is not expected to practice Wednesday, Nolan Bianchi of The Detroit News reports.
Saylor's neck injury is significant enough that Coach Dan Campbell felt comfortable declaring him doubtful to practice multiple days in advance. The kick returner/reserve running back couldn't return to Sunday's win over the Vikings because of the injury, and it remains unclear how long he will miss.
Wonnum (concussion) has been ruled out for the rest of Sunday's game against the Vikings.
Wonnum and Brian Branch collided with each other in the second quarter, and both players are now in the league's concussion protocol. Derrick Moore, Trevor Nowaske and Eric O'Neill are in line for more defensive snaps in Wonnum's absence.
Joseph (knee) was estimated as a limited participant on the Lions' official injury report Wednesday, Nolan Bianchi of The Detroit News reports.
Joseph is still waiting to make his 2026 debut as he continues to work his way back from a lingering knee injury, and his status for Week 9 is up in the air. He'll probably need to log a full practice before being activated from the reserve/PUP list, so his activity Thursday and Friday will be worth monitoring.
Rolder (hamstring) was placed on injured reserve Tuesday.
This move was anticipated, as Rolder suffered a season-ending hamstring injury in the Lions' win over Minnesota on Sunday. The rookie linebacker logged a career-high 17 defensive snaps and notched his first NFL sack in that contest, so his injury comes at an unfortunate time. Rolder will now turn his focus toward rehabbing the injury in order to be ready for offseason activities in 2027.
Mays sustained a low-ankle sprain during Detroit's win over the Vikings on Sunday, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN reports.
Mays missed the first five games of the season while recovering from a fractured wrist and is now in danger of missing additional time. Juice Scruggs will likely take over as the team's starting center while Mays is sidelined.
Lions coach Dan Campbell said Friday that Pacheco (back) has a chance to return in late December, Justin Rogers of DetroitFootball.net reports.
Pacheco has been sidelined for the entirety of the regular season to this point after undergoing back surgery in September. Sione Vaki has been working as the Lions' clear RB2, though Jahmyr Gibbs has been a true workhorse out of the backfield. If Pacheco does return at the end of the regular season, it's hard to envision him having a big impact coming off back surgery.
The Lions placed Bartch (foot) on injured reserve Friday.
Bartch has already missed three games due to a foot injury that he sustained against the Bills in Week 2. While on IR, he'll be forced to miss at least four games, so Week 11 against the Buccaneers on Sunday, Nov. 22, is the earliest he can return.
The Lions placed White (forearm) on injured reserve Friday.
White was diagnosed with a broken forearm following the Lions' Week 5 win over the Cardinals. He'll be required to miss at least the next four games on IR, and while he's likely to be sidelined past that minimum window, there's optimism that the veteran linebacker will return at some point this season. Malcolm Rodriguez is the next man up at linebacker in White's absence.
The Lions placed Kennedy (knee) on injured reserve Friday.
Kennedy suffered a season-ending MCL injury in his right knee during the Lions' Week 5 win over the Cardinals. His move to IR opens a spot on Detroit's 53-man roster, and in his absence, Jacob Saylors is in line to take over return duties on kickoffs and punts.
The Lions placed Harper (ankle) on injured reserve Saturday.
Harper has not been able to practice since sustaining an ankle injury during the Lions' Week 2 loss to the Bills. The safety departing for IR leaves the Lions' secondary dangerously low on defensive backs, now without Harper, Avonte Maddox (foot), Brian Branch (Achilles) and Kerby Joseph (knee). The Lions have elevated Jalen Mills from the practice squad to start at strong safety in Sunday's game against the Jets.
The Lions placed Maddox (foot) on injured reserve Tuesday.
Maddox will miss the rest of the 2026 season due to a left foot injury he sustained in the Lions' Week 2 loss to the Bills. He'll shift his focus toward being fully healthy for the 2027 campaign, though he'll enter the offseason as an unrestricted free agent. With Maddox, Brian Branch (Achilles) and Kerby Joseph (knee) all sidelined, Thomas Harper and Chuck Clark will serve as Detroit's starting safeties for the time being.
The Lions moved Manu (knee) to the reserve/non-football injury list Sunday.
Manu continues to recover from a knee injury he sustained in October of 2025. He's required to miss at least the first four games of the regular season, meaning the earliest he can return is Week 5 against the Cardinals on Sunday, Oct. 11.
Detroit placed Clark (undisclosed) on its injured reserve list Tuesday.
It's not immediately clear what kind of injury Clark suffered, but the timing of the transaction means he's now in line to spend the entire 2026 season on IR unless he works out an injury settlement with the Lions. His departure could open up more opportunities for fellow free-agent acquisition Amen Ogbongbemiga.
The Lions placed Law (knee) on the reserve/injured list Wednesday.
Head coach Dan Campbell told reporters in early June that Law tore his ACL during practice, so his move to IR comes as no surprise. Law, a 2026 fifth-round pick from Kentucky, appeared in 12 games during his final collegiate season, catching 53 passes for 540 yards and three touchdowns. In related moves, Detroit signed wideouts Tay Martin, Tarik Black and Lucky Jackson.
McCreary (foot) is active for Sunday's game against the Vikings.
McCreary wasn't listed on the injury report Wednesday or Thursday but practiced in a limited capacity Friday. As a result, the 26-year-old was listed as questionable for the divisional showdown with Minnesota, though he has since been cleared to suit up. McCreary has appeared in all six of Detroit's regular-season games in 2026, amassing 22 total tackles (17 solo), 1.0 sacks and one forced fumble.
Rakestraw (ankle) does not have a game designation for Sunday's Week 8 tilt versus the Vikings.
Rakestraw suffered an ankle injury late in this past Sunday's win over Green Bay. He was held to limited practice sessions Wednesday and Thursday but was able to upgrade to full participation Friday. As such, Rakestraw is good to go for Sunday's big battle against Minnesota.
