#44RB Cam Skattebo QuestionableHamstring
Updated

Skattebo (hamstring) did not participate in Wednesday's practice, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.

The Giants are coming off of their bye and preparing for the Eagles, and Skattebo was not available to practice as the week got underway. Skattebo tweaked his hamstring on his last carry of the game against the Texans in Week 7. His status in practice the remainder of the week will be crucial given the Giants' shorthandedness in the backfield. Devin Singletary and Greg Desrosiers are the healthy options at RB beyond Skattebo.

Injured reserve and long term 13

#29RB Tyrone Tracy Jr. IRHamstring · Strain
Estimated return Dec 6 Updated

The Giants placed Tracy (hamstring) on injured reserve Tuesday, Dan Salomone of the team's official site reports.

Just as general manager Joe Schoen indicated would be the case earlier in the day, Tracy was deactivated after straining his hamstring during Sunday's 27-21 overtime win over the Texans. He'll be out for at least the next four games, making the Giants' Week 13 game against the 49ers his earliest possible return date. While Tracy is sidelined, Devin Singletary is expected to operate as the top complement to Cam Skattebo (hamstring), who thrived while moving back into a lead role out of the backfield in the Week 7 victory.

#49LB Tremaine Edmunds IRChest (left)
Out for the season Updated

Edmunds (chest) was placed on injured reserve Saturday, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.

Edmunds will miss the rest of the 2026 season due to a torn chest muscle, so his placement on injured reserve opens up a spot on the Giants' 53-man roster. Micah McFadden is expected to start at inside linebacker alongside Arvell Reese for the rest of the season in Edmunds' absence, with Jack Kelly and Zaire Barnes providing depth at the position.

#87WR Braxton Berrios IRFoot · Surgery
Out for the season Updated

Berrios (foot) underwent successful surgery Friday to repair a Lisfranc injury, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports.

Berrios suffered a foot injury in the Week 5 victory over the Cardinals. He has since been ruled out for the remainder of the 2026 season and is currently occupying a spot on injured reserve. It's unknown if Berrios will be cleared to suit up for the start of the 2027 campaign, but while he is sidelined this season, Charlie Jones is projected to handle most of the return duties.

#57DE Chauncey Golston IRNeck
Estimated return Nov 12 Updated

The Giants placed Golston (neck) on injured reserve Saturday, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.

Golston was injured in last Sunday's win over the Cardinals and is facing an extended absence that could extend beyond the minimum four games. Darius Alexander and Bobby Jamison-Travis will be in line for increased snaps on the defensive line for New York.

#6QB Jaxson Dart IRKnee - Meniscus (left) · Surgery
Estimated return Jan 17 Updated

Dart recently underwent surgery to repair the meniscus and MCL in his left knee, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.

Dart's ACL and PCL were apparently spared, but the quarterback remains done for the 2026 regular season after he was injured in the first quarter of Week 2 against the Rams. It's unclear if Dart could make a postseason return if the Giants are able to make it that far. Jameis Winston and newly acquired J.J. McCarthy will handle quarterback duties moving forward this season.

#0LB Brian Burns IRKnee - ACL (right) · Surgery
Out for the season Updated

The Giants placed Burns (knee) on injured reserve Tuesday, Dan Salomone of the team's official site reports.

Burns' move to injured reserve comes just one day after the team announced that he would miss the remainder of the season due to a torn ACL suffered during Sunday's win over the Titans. The 2019 first-round pick recorded eight tackles (four solo) across his three outings before getting hurt, and in his absence, Kayvon Thibodeaux should take over as the primary edge rusher opposite Abdul Carter.

#38CB Korie Black IRUndisclosed
Estimated return Nov 8 Updated

Black (undisclosed) was placed on injured reserve with a designation to return by the Giants on Monday, Dan Salomone and Matt Citak of the team's official site report.

The cornerback got injured during New York's final preseason game against the Jets. Black had broken up four passes during preseason action and had likely earned his spot on the active roster. He'll now have to miss the first four games, but the designation to return indicates that the coaching staff sees him as a part of the 53 once he's healthy.

#82WR Calvin Austin III IRKnee (right)
Out for the season Updated

The Giants placed Austin (knee) on injured reserve Thursday, Patricia Traina of SI.com reports.

After being carted off the field at Tuesday's practice due to an apparent right knee injury, Austin was diagnosed with a torn ACL, ensuring he'll miss the entire 2026 campaign. Odell Beckham, Braxton Berrios (undisclosed), Jalin Hyatt (leg) and Isaiah Hodgins will continue to battle for the last one or two spots at wide receiver on the Giants' active roster.

#36CB Rico Payton IRUndisclosed
Out for the season Updated

Payton (undisclosed) reverted to injured reserve Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

The cornerback is thus slated to spend the coming campaign on IR unless he reaches an injury settlement with the Giants. The 26-year-old is coming off a 2025 regular season in which he recorded 12 tackles in nine contests while working in a reserve role in New York's secondary.

#80WR Gunner Olszewski IRAchilles · Surgery
Out for the season Updated

Olszewski (Achilles) was placed on injured reserve by the Giants on Monday, Dan Salomone of the team's official site reports.

The kick and punt returner tore his Achilles during OTAs on Friday and now will have to miss the 2026 campaign. Olszewski was in line to retain the returner role he played for New York in 2025.

#39CB Thaddeus Dixon IRAchilles
Out for the season Updated

Dixon tore his Achilles on Wednesday and was placed on injured reserve Thursday, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.

Despite going undrafted, there were high hopes for Dixon, who received $282,500 guaranteed in his contract (one of the largest among the rookie class), according to Dan Duggan of The Athletic. Dixon went undrafted in part because of an existing hamstring injury, so this is another tough break for the rookie. Because of his placement on injured reserve, Dixon won't play in 2026 even if he's able to heal up before the end of the season.

#20CB Greg Newsome II Cleared
Updated

Newsome (concussion) wasn't listed on the Giants' injury report Wednesday.

Newsome is healthy again after having missed the Week 7 win over the Texans due to a concussion. The 26-year-old signed a three-year extension with the team Tuesday and will resume his role as one of its starting cornerbacks during Sunday's matchup against the Eagles.

#8S Jevon Holland Cleared
Updated

Holland (concussion) was not listed on the Giants' injury report Wednesday, Dan Salomone of the team's official site reports.

Holland was forced to miss the team's overtime win against the Texans in Week 7 while recovering from a concussion, but he now appears to have cleared concussion protocol. The 26-year-old will be back in his starting role in New York's secondary versus Philadelphia on Sunday.

#84TE Theo Johnson Cleared
Updated

Johnson (neck) was a full participant at the Giants' practice Wednesday, Dan Salomone of the team's official site reports.

Johnson appears to be back to full health after missing the team's last two contests while nursing a neck injury. The 25-year-old will be back in his No. 2 role at tight end behind starter Isaiah Likely against the Eagles on Sunday.

#26RB Devin Singletary Cleared
Updated

Singletary is expected to handle a bigger role out of the Giants' backfield after Tyrone Tracy (hamstring) was placed on injured reserve Tuesday, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports.

The Giants have their bye in Week 8, but Tracy will be required to miss at least four games with his injury, so it appears Singletary and Cam Skattebo (hamstring) will form the backfield duo with Tracy sidelined and Najee Harris recently released. Singletary scored the game-winning touchdown in overtime last Sunday against the Texans, finishing with 55 total yards and the touchdown on eight touches. If Skattebo is healthy, he figures to operate as the lead back, but Singletary showed enough to warrant 6-to-10 touches with upside for more. He's worth picking up in most fantasy leagues.

#52LB Arvell Reese Cleared
Updated

Reese posted seven tackles (five solo), including 0.5 sacks, in Sunday's 27-21 overtime victory against the Texans.

Reese continues to produce nice tackle numbers, as he's recorded seven or more stops in five of his seven games this season. The rookie out of Ohio State didn't notch a sack in his first four contests, but he's starting to pick up the pace with 1.5 sacks across his past three games. Reese has logged 100 percent of New York's defensive snaps in all but one of his appearances so far.

#41LB Micah McFadden Cleared
Updated

McFadden notched 10 tackles (all solo) in Sunday's 27-21 overtime win against the Texans.

Among McFadden's 10 stops were two tackles for loss. The veteran linebacker had logged only three defensive snaps while serving primarily on special teams before Sunday, but he stepped into a starting role and played every one of the Giants' defensive snaps against Houston. It appears McFadden is going to be the replacement for inside linebacker Tremaine Edmunds, who landed on IR due to a chest injury last week.
