Burks (foot) did not practice Wednesday, Ben Standig of The Team 980 Washington D.C. reports.
After back-to-back DNPs last Wednesday and Thursday, Burks got in a limited session Friday before being cleared to play Sunday night against Philly. He ended up recording three grabs for 81 yards as the Commanders' leading receiver in the contest. Burks should play plenty of snaps the rest of the season with Terry McLaurin (knee) done for the year.
Newton (pectoral) practiced in full Wednesday, Ben Standig of The Team 980 Washington D.C. reports.
Newton remains on injured reserve after his 21-day practice window was opened last week. He's closing in on a return to the lineup and is needed even more now that Javon Kinlaw (knee) and Daron Payne (toe) are on injured reserve.
Payne (foot) underwent season-ending surgery Wednesday, Ben Standig of The Team 980 Washington D.C. reports.
Commanders head coach Dan Quinn confirmed that Payne will be out long-term with a foot injury suffered in practice. With both Javon Kinlaw (knee) and Payne out, Tim Settle will have a larger role at nose tackle going forward.
McNichols, who suffered a foot injury Sunday against the Eagles that may require surgery, is out for the season, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
McNichols was placed on injured reserve Tuesday, and what coach Dan Quinn described as a "serious mid-foot injury" will keep the running back sidelined for the rest of the 2026 campaign. With Jacory Croskey-Merritt (groin) slated to miss at least two more games, the Commanders' current healthy RBs are Rachaad White, Austin Ekeler and Robert Henry.
Kinlaw underwent season-ending surgery Tuesday to repair his MCL, Nicki Jhabvala of The Athletic reports.
Washington placed Kinlaw on injured reserve Tuesday, but it wasn't immediately known how much time the knee injury he initially sustained Week 6 would keep him out of commission. Now that Kinlaw has opted for surgery, he'll remain on IR for the Commanders' final 10 games in what amounts to another major hit to the defensive line. Washington also placed nose tackle Daron Payne on IR on Tuesday after he needed surgery to repair a Jones fracture in his left foot.
McLaurin (knee) underwent surgery Friday to repair the torn patellar tendon in his left knee, Nicki Jhabvala of The Athletic reports.
The surgery was conducted in New York, and McLaurin has already been ruled out for the remainder of the 2026 season. His availability for the start of the 2027 campaign will also be in question, as the veteran wideout faces a lengthy rehab process. The Commanders will move forward with Stefon Diggs, Antonio Williams, Dyami Brown and Treylon Burks atop the wideout depth chart this season.
Tunsil (triceps) could potentially return late in the season, Nicki Jhabvala of The Athletic reports.
Tunsil has another check-up in a few weeks, which will give the Commanders a better sense of a potential return timeline in 2026. The offensive tackle is still a ways away from football, but the consistency in his recovery process leaves the door open for an eventual return.
Lane underwent surgery Oct. 9 to repair his fractured and dislocated ankle, and he is expected to be cleared for activities before OTAs, Tashan Reed of The Washington Post reports.
Lane sustained his season-ending ankle injury during the Commanders' Week 4 win against the Colts, and the injury was severe enough for him to stay in London overnight to be monitored and undergo additional tests. His absence has opened the door to more playing time for both Luke McCaffrey and Dyami Brown, and they are both candidates for another bump in playing time after Terry McLaurin tore his patellar tendon during the Commanders' 23-17 loss to the 49ers on Monday.
The Commanders placed Jean-Baptiste (pectoral) on injured reserve Monday.
Jean-Baptiste was already ruled out for Monday night's game against the 49ers due to a pectoral injury, which is severe enough for the third-year pro to go on IR. He's required to miss at least four games, so the earliest he is eligible to return is Week 11 against the Bengals on Monday, Nov. 23.
The Commanders placed Croskey-Merritt (groin) on injured reserve Monday.
Croskey-Merritt had already been ruled out for Monday's game against the 49ers, but his move to IR ensures that he'll miss at least an additional three contests beyond that. With Croskey-Merritt sidelined through Week 10, Rachaad White looks on track to serve as the Commanders' top option out of the backfield in the interim, while Austin Ekeler and Jeremy McNichols are on hand in complementary roles.
The Commanders placed Chenal (neck) on injured reserve Tuesday.
Chenal's move to injured reserve doesn't come as a surprise since it was previously announced he would undergo season-ending neck surgery. The 2022 third-round pick had racked up 18 tackles (nine solo) across three games before getting hurt and will now shift his focus to getting healthy for the 2027 campaign.
Okonkwo tallied two catches (on four targets) for 32 yards during Sunday's 27-10 win versus the Eagles.
Okonkwo logged a typical 77 percent snap share in Week 8, but aside from a stellar 21-yard catch in the fourth quarter, he didn't contribute much to the Commanders offense. Overall, he's mustered just a 17-182-0 line on 24 targets in his five appearances this season, but 15 of his catches have occurred in the four full contests for Jayden Daniels in 2026, so the tight end has exhibited a rapport with the team's primary signal-caller. Okonkwo will aim for a bounceback this coming Sunday against the Rams.
Omenihu (groin/ankle) is active for Sunday night's contest against the Eagles.
Omenihu will return to action in Week 8 after missing two straight contests with a pair of groin and ankle injuries. The 29-year-old will be back in a prominent role on the defensive line versus Philadelphia.
Mariota (knee) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice.
Mariota was sidelined for the previous two games with a sprained MCL but is ready to resume QB2 duties coming out of the Commanders' bye. Athan Kaliakmanis should slide back down to the QB3 spot for Washington.
