#81WR Nikko Remigio QuestionableHip
Updated

Remigio (hip) was limited in Wednesday's practice.

The return man has played just two offensive snaps all season. He's recorded 274 yards on 10 kick returns and 70 yards on 12 punt returns through seven games.

#4WR Rashee Rice QuestionableHamstring
Updated

Rice (hamstring/knee) was limited in Wednesday's practice.

Rice got back in the fold in Week 8 to the tune of an 7-53-1 line after missing time with a hamstring injury, and he is limited to start preparation for the Jets. The Chiefs could be exercising caution with their top receiver, who also rehabbed from knee surgery during the offseason. A limited session Wednesday does not mean his Week 9 status is in jeopardy, but his participation over the coming days will be telling.

#87TE Travis Kelce QuestionableAnkle
Updated

Kelce (ankle) was listed as limited in Wednesday's practice.

Kelce logged a limited session this past Thursday before practicing fully a day later. He then approached Week 8 action without an injury designation, en route to recording a 78 percent offensive snap share and catching five of his seven targets for 67 yards in the Chiefs' 28-24 loss to the Broncos. Chances are, the tight end's listed limitations Wednesday were maintenance-related, and he will now have two more chances to work fully ahead of Sunday's game against the Jets.

#99DT Peter Woods QuestionableNeck · Stinger
Updated

Woods (neck) has been ruled out for the rest of Sunday's contest against the Broncos.

Woods went down with a neck injury early in the contest, and his night has now officially come to a premature end. Woods will now shift his focus toward being ready to go for the team's Week 9 matchup with the Jets.

Injured reserve and long term 10

#38CB L'Jarius Sneed IRKnee
Estimated return Nov 26 Updated

The Chiefs placed Sneed (knee) on injured reserve Saturday.

Sneed was initially given the questionable tag for Sunday's game against the Broncos. He's been able to play through a lingering knee issue, but his placement on IR indicates that the injury has gotten to the point that an extended absence is warranted for the seventh-year defensive back. Sneed will be required to miss at least four games, so the earliest he can return is Week 12 against the Bills on Thursday, Nov. 26. Jaden Hicks, Jadon Canady, Kristian Fulton and Christian Roland-Wallace are all candidates to see more work in the secondary due to the absences of both Sneed and Mansoor Delane (shoulder) for Sunday's AFC West tilt.

#55DT Omarr Norman-Lott OutKnee - ACL (right) · Surgery
Estimated return Nov 8 Updated

The Chiefs designated Norman-Lott (knee) to return from injured reserve Wednesday.

Norman-Lott was limited in his return to practice Wednesday. He's in the final stages of his recovery from a torn ACL that he sustained in October of 2025. The Chiefs now have 21 days to activate Norman-Lott from the PUP list, otherwise he would be forced to miss the entire 2026 season.

#24RB Brashard Smith IRHamstring
Estimated return Nov 22 Updated

The Chiefs placed Smith (hamstring) on injured reserve Saturday.

Smith sustained a hamstring injury in Thursday's practice session and has promptly been transitioned to IR as he manages the issue. Running back Jaydn Ott has been signed to the active roster to be the No. 3 option behind Kenneth Walker and Emmett Johnson while Smith recovers.

#71OT Josh Simmons IRBack
Estimated return Nov 22 Updated

The Chiefs placed Simmons (lower back) on injured reserve Thursday.

Though he had been on the Chiefs' 53-man roster all season, Simmons had yet to make his 2026 debut while working his way back from a bulging and herniated disc in his lower back. Simmons appeared to be making strides in his recovery after he returned to practice last week as a limited participant, but he downgraded to no participation Wednesday after head trainer Rick Burkholder said that the second-year left tackle "plateaued in the rehab process," per Nate Taylor of ESPN.com. As a result, the Chiefs have opted to deactivate Simmons, who won't be eligible to play until Week 11 versus the Cardinals. Undrafted rookie Kahlil Benson should continue to start at left tackle in Simmons' absence.

#2WR Tyquan Thornton IRAnkle (left) · Surgery
Estimated return Jan 17 Updated

The Chiefs placed Thornton (ankle) on injured reserve Tuesday.

The transaction frees up a spot on the 53-man roster for linebacker Cam Jones, who was signed off the practice squad. After dislocating his left ankle in the Chiefs' Oct. 4 win over the Raiders and requiring surgery, Thornton is facing an estimated recovery timeline of 3-to-4 months, which means that he'll likely be sidelined until at least Week 17 or 18 in a best-case scenario. While Thornton is out, the Chiefs are expected to lean on Jalen Royals and Cyrus Allen to handle more reps in three-receiver sets alongside starters Rashee Rice (hamstring) and Xavier Worthy.

#82WR Jimmy Holiday IRUndisclosed
Out for the season Updated

Holiday (undisclosed) was placed on injured reserve by the Chiefs on Sunday.

Holiday is dealing with an undisclosed injury, and he did not play during the preseason. The wide receiver will now be forced to miss the entire 2026 campaign while on IR, unless he is able to reach an injury settlement with Kansas City.

#8WR Jeff Caldwell IRKnee (left) · Soreness
Out for the season Updated

Caldwell (knee) reverted to the Chiefs' injured reserve list Tuesday, Charles Goldman of AtoZSports.com reports.

Caldwell hyperextended his left knee during Wednesday's practice and was promptly waived with an injury designation. The wide receiver will now spend the entirety of the 2026 regular season on injured reserve unless he is waived with an injury settlement.

#73OT Matt Waletzko IRUndisclosed
Out for the season Updated

Waletzko (undisclosed) reverted from waivers to Kansas City's injured reserve list Friday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

Waletzko did not get claimed after the Chiefs waived him with an undisclosed injury Thursday, and he's now in line to spend the entire 2026 on IR. He last suited up for a regular-season contest back in 2024 with the Cowboys.

#40LB Ethan Downs IRKnee - ACL · Surgery
Out for the season Updated

The Chiefs placed (Downs) knee on injured reserve Tuesday, Matt Derrick of ChiefsDigest.com reports.

Downs' season is over after he tore his ACL during Tuesday's practice session. The 23-year-old will now shift his focus to getting healthy, and he will look to make his NFL debut during the 2027 campaign.

#84TE John Michael Gyllenborg IRKnee · Sprain
Out for the season Updated

The Chiefs placed Gyllenborg (knee) on injured reserve Tuesday, Matt Derrick of ChiefsDigest.com reports.

Gyllenborg sprained his knee in late July and will need to miss some time. The tight end was moved to IR alongside defensive end Ethan Downs (knee), so the Chiefs now have two roster spots available for the start of training camp Wednesday morning.

#77OT Jaylon Moore Cleared
Updated

Moore (concussion) does not carry an injury designation into Sunday's game against the Broncos.

The lack of an injury designation indicates that Moore has cleared the league's concussion protocol. He should reclaim his starting spot at right tackle while Joshua Ezeudu reverts to a depth role.

#27S Chamarri Conner Cleared
Updated

Conner finished Sunday's 20-3 loss to Seattle with seven tackles (two solo).

Conner was on the field for every single defensive snap for a second consecutive game following the Chiefs' Week 5 bye. He missed the first three games of the regular season due to a knee injury but has suited up for each of the team's last three contests, during which he has accumulated 17 tackles (nine solo), including 1.0 sacks, and one pass defense.

#20CB Nohl Williams Cleared
Updated

Williams finished Sunday's 20-3 loss to the Seahawks with 10 tackles (four solo) and one interception.

The second-year defensive back's 10 tackles were a career best, and his interception off Sam Darnold late in the second quarter was also the first of Williams' NFL career. Williams is up to 29 tackles (17 solo), including 1.0 sacks, and seven pass defenses (including one interception) through six regular-season games.

#32LB Nick Bolton Cleared
Updated

Bolton registered 11 tackles (six solo) during the Chiefs' 20-3 loss to the Seahawks on Sunday.

Bolton played all but one of the Chiefs' 69 defensive snaps during Sunday's loss, and he finished second on the team in tackles behind Drue Tranquill (12). Bolton has recorded double-digit stops in four of six regular-season games and is up to 59 tackles (29 solo) and two pass defenses on the year.

#23LB Drue Tranquill Cleared
Updated

Tranquill finished Sunday's 20-3 loss to the Seahawks with 12 tackles (four solo).

Tranquil led the Chiefs in combined tackles Sunday, and he was one of three Kansas City defenders to reach double-digit stops. He's logged at least seven tackles in each of the first six games of the regular season and is up to 48 tackles (22 solo), two pass defenses and one fumble recovery in 2026.
