Injured reserve and long term 10
The Chargers designated Perryman (undisclosed) for return to practice from their injured reserve list Wednesday, Noah Furtado of The Athletic reports.
Perryman has spent the entire regular season up to this point on IR with an undisclosed injury, but it now looks like he's nearing a return to game action. His activity at practice during the week will be worth keeping an eye on ahead of Sunday's game versus the Texans.
Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh said Wednesday that Njoku (fibula) has been designated for return from injured reserve, Alex Insdorf of BoltBeat.com reports.
The transaction opens up a 21-day window wherein Njoku can be evaluated for a return to the 53-man roster. The veteran tight end has been out of action since sustaining the fibula injury Week 2, but if he's able to turn in a full practice at some point over the next three days, he could have a chance at being activated from IR ahead of Sunday's game against the Texans. Once he's back in the fold, Njoku could push Charlie Kolar and Oronde Gadsden for snaps at tight end.
The Chargers placed James (hamstring) on injured reserve Saturday.
James missed the Chargers' three games prior to the Week 7 bye due to a hamstring injury. He suffered a setback in his recovery during Week 8 prep, which will require a stint on IR for the veteran safety. James is required to be sidelined for at least four games, so the earliest he can return is Week 12 against the Patriots on Sunday, Nov. 29. Tony Jefferson will continue to operate in an elevated role in the secondary in James' absence.
The Chargers placed Ingold on injured reserve Thursday due to a shoulder injury.
Per Noah Furtado of The Athletic, Ingold wasn't included on the Chargers' initial Week 6 injury report Wednesday before being a late addition on account of the shoulder issue. He'll be sidelined for at least the next four games, making him ineligible to play until Week 11 versus the Jets on Nov. 22. The fullback hadn't logged any carries and recorded three receptions for 35 yards on four targets through Los Angeles' first five games.
The Chargers placed Penning (concussion) on injured reserve Saturday.
Penning entered the league's concussion protocol following the Chargers' Week 4 loss to the Seahawks. He'll be required to miss at least four games, so Week 10 against the Ravens on Monday, Nov. 16 is the earliest that Penning can return.
The Chargers placed Lance (groin) on injured reserve Saturday.
Lance has been on the Chargers' injury report since late September due to a groin issue. He suited up for each of the Chargers' last two games, but it appears his injury has regressed enough for him to warrant a stint on injured reserve. As such, Lance will be sidelined for at least four games, and the next time he can play is Week 10 against the Ravens on Sunday, Nov. 16. DJ Uiagalelei will be the Chargers' backup to Justin Herbert while Lance is sidelined.
The Chargers placed Slater (ankle) on injured reserve Friday.
Slater underwent ankle surgery Thursday after suffering a high-ankle sprain during Sunday's loss to the Seahawks. The left tackle will now need to miss at least four games on IR before the Chargers can return him to the active roster. With Slater out, Logan Taylor will be protecting Justin Herbert's blindside in the Chargers' Week 5 matchup against the Broncos.
The Chargers placed Pipkins (knee) on injured reserve Saturday.
Pipkins suffered a knee injury sometime after Week 1 and has been unable to practice since. The offensive lineman will now need to miss four games on IR before becoming eligible to return to the Chargers' active roster.

The Chargers placed Biadasz (knee) on injured reserve Sunday.
Biadasz's placement on injured reserve means the 2020 fourth-rounder will be sidelined for the entire 2026 season. He suffered multiple injuries to his left knee -- including his ACL -- during Tuesday's training camp practice. There was initial optimism that he would be available toward the tail end of the regular season, but Biadasz will now shift his focus toward being fully healthy for the 2027 campaign. Jake Slaughter figures to serve as the Chargers' starting center moving forward.

Alt (neck) was not listed on the Chargers' official injury report Wednesday.
Alt missed the Chargers' last two games before their bye in Week 7 because of a neck injury he suffered back in Week 4 at Seattle, but he is now on track to play Sunday against the Rams. He should start at one of the Chargers' tackle spots opposite rookie fourth-rounder Travis Burke in Week 8.
