Head coach Todd Bowles said that Diaby (knee) has been diagnosed with an MCL sprain and won't be available for Sunday's game against the Bears, Scott Smith of the Buccaneers' official site reports.
Diaby exited this past Sunday's 16-0 win over the Falcons with the knee injury, which was revealed to be a Grade 2 MCL sprain following an MRI on Monday, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. Though Diaby will miss at least one game due to the injury, Bowles expressed hope that the Buccaneers' Week 10 bye would aid the edge rusher's recovery and allow him to avoid a stint on injured reserve.
Smith (ankle) was a limited participant at the Buccaneers' practice Wednesday.
Smith was less than 100 percent to open the week after recording two total tackles (one solo) during the team's 16-0 win over the Falcons in Week 8. The safety may have picked up an ankle injury in the contest, and he will have two more chances to log a full practice before Sunday night's contest against Chicago.
Gainwell (hip) was listed as limited on Wednesday's injury report.
Gainwell sustained a hip injury during the Buccaneers' Week 7 win at Carolina, but he played through the issue en route to 14 carries for 88 yards. He then followed a DNP/LP/FP practice regimen last week before being listed as questionable for this past Sunday's game against the Falcons, for which he was active. Gainwell then reeled off a career-best 140 yards on 25 carries while working in tandem with fellow RB Bucky Irving. With a capped session under his belt to begin this week, Gainwell seems to be in a better spot than he was a week ago, but Friday's practice report will reveal if he enters the weekend with a designation for Sunday's game in Chicago.
Egbuka (foot) was spotted running on the side with a trainer Wednesday, Greg Auman of Fox Sports reports.
Egbuka, who last suited up for game action in Week 6, was limited at practice last Wednesday and Thursday before logging a DNP on Friday. It remains to be seen what his participation level will be as the week unfolds, but if Egbuka remains sidelined Sunday night against the Bears, Chris Godwin, Ted Hurst and Tez Johnson would be in line to lead Tampa Bay's Week 9 WR corps.
Hayes suffered a small setback in his recovery from a knee injury, Greg Auman of Fox Sports reports.
Hayes underwent a minor procedure on his knee after getting hurt in the preseason, and there's currently no timetable for his return following the setback. Once healthy, the 27-year-old should contribute on special teams.
Rozeboom (finger) was placed on injured reserve by the Buccaneers on Thursday, Scott Smith of the team's official website reports.
Rozeboom will be forced to miss at least four games while recovering from a finger injury that he likely suffered in Week 6 against the Steelers. In his absence, SirVocea Dennis will stand to see an increase in workload at inside linebacker behind starters Alex Anzalone and Josiah Trotter.
The Buccaneers placed McMillan (knee) on injured reserve Wednesday.
The move to IR officially rules McMillan out for the Buccaneers' next four games, but the wideout is projected to miss around 6-to-8 weeks after he sustained a PCL sprain of his left knee during Sunday's loss to the Vikings. With McMillan sidelined, rookie third-round pick Ted Hurst should be locked in as the Buccaneers' No. 3 wideout behind Emeka Egbuka and Chris Godwin.
Kamara (knee) reverted to the Buccaneers' injured reserve list Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.
Kamara suffered a sprained left knee in the Buccaneers' preseason finale against the Jaguars last Friday. The linebacker was promptly waived with an injury designation and cleared waivers. Kamara will now spend the entirety of the 2026 regular season on IR unless he is waived with an injury settlement.
Goedeke (calf) is active for Sunday's game against the Falcons, Scott Smith of the Buccaneers' official site reports.
Goedeke earned the questionable tag for Week 8 after logging a limited practice Friday, and he's been cleared by medical staff to return from a one-game absence due to a calf injury. He'll reclaim his starting spot at right tackle while Benjamin Chukwuma reverts to a depth role.
Trotter (illness) was a full participant at the Buccaneers' practice Thursday.
Trotter opened the week as a non-participant Wednesday due to an illness, but he now appears to be good to go ahead of Week 8. The linebacker has recorded double-digit stops in back-to-back weeks, registering 22 total tackles (eight solo) and two passes defensed in those contests.
Winfield (ribs) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice, Brianna Dix of the Buccaneers' official site reports.
Winfield has been sidelined for the Buccaneers' last three games while nursing a rib injury. He showed enough progression in his recovery to log a full practice Wednesday, which puts him on track to play against the Falcons on Sunday. Winfield should reclaim his starting role at safety, so Ifeatu Melifonwu figures to revert to a rotational role in the secondary.
