The Browns listed Watson (concussion) as a non-participant in Wednesday's practice.
Early in this past Sunday's 27-6 loss to the Steelers, Watson exited the game to get checked for a concussion following a helmet-to-helmet hit, but he was cleared to re-enter the contest after missing just four offensive snaps. However, after he had some late-surfacing symptoms, Watson entered concussion protocol Tuesday and was a spectator for the Browns' first Week 9 session. According to Daniel Oyefusi of ESPN.com, Watson "felt a lot better" Wednesday and was involved in meetings, but Shedeur Sanders took all the reps with the first-team offense. Sanders appears to be trending toward starting Sunday against the Saints, as Monken acknowledged that it will be difficult for Watson to play even if he ends up clearing the protocol late in the week, per Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram.
Boston was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice due to a calf injury, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports.
Boston made appearances on the injury report in Weeks 6 and 7 due to a foot issue, but he's tending to a new health concern coming out of this past Sunday's 27-6 loss to the Steelers. The rookie wideout will have two more chances this week to upgrade to full practice, and if he does, he should head into Sunday's game in New Orleans without an injury designation.
Williams (hamstring) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Chris Easterling of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
Williams missed Wednesday's practice with a hamstring injury, which likely occurred at some point during the Browns' Week 8 loss to the Steelers. However, head coach Todd Monken said he is "optimistic" that the 30-year-old will be ready for Week 9. Williams will need to upgrade his practice status by Friday for a chance to play.
Davis (quadriceps) will spend the rest of the 2026 season on injured reserve after his 21-day practice window expired Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Davis injured his quad during training camp in late July and started the regular season on IR. His 21-day window opened Oct. 6, but he has not progressed enough in his recovery to warrant his removal from IR. That means that the 2022 sixth-rounder will be sidelined for the rest of the season unless he reaches an injury settlement with the Browns.
The Browns placed Jenkins (back) on injured reserve Saturday.
Jenkins has yet to play in the 2026 regular season due to a persistent back injury. The issue seems to be significant enough that Jenkins will not be able to return to the field soon, leaving the Browns no choice but to place the guard on IR.
The Browns placed Sanders (hip) on injured reserve Tuesday.
Sanders opened the year as Cleveland's No. 3 running back but saw his role increase after Dylan Sampson (knee) landed on IR. During the season's first four games, Sanders gained 42 yards on eight carries and added eight catches for 49 yards on nine targets before going down with a hip injury in Week 5. Sanders will be sidelined for at least the next four games.
Ulofoshio (biceps) reverted to the Browns' IR on Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.
Ulofoshio suffered a biceps injury in Cleveland's final preseason contest Thursday and was waived/injured Sunday. He went unclaimed on waivers and consequently reverted to injured reserve. As a result, Ulofoshio won't be able to play during the 2026 season unless he reaches an injury settlement with the Browns.
The Browns reverted Chatman (quadriceps) to IR on Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.
Chatman hurt his quad in Cleveland's preseason finale and was subsequently waived/injured Sunday. He wasn't claimed on waivers, so he reverted to IR. That means Chatman will miss the entire 2026 season unless he reaches an injury settlement with the Browns.
The Browns placed Royer (personal) on the reserve/non-football illness list Sunday, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports.
Royer has been designated to return to the team but will be required to miss at least the first four weeks of the regular season. The rookie fifth-rounder missed the entirety of the preseason due to a personal issue. It remains unclear when the tight end will be ready to return to football.
The Browns placed Wright on injured reserve Sunday due to a ruptured Achilles, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Wright picked up the injury during Thursday's joint practice with the Bills during a one-on-one drill with offensive tackle Spencer Brown. Follow-up tests revealed the extent of Wright's injury, which will sideline the 2022 third-rounder for the upcoming season. Isaiah McGuire is slated to start at defensive end opposite Jared Verse for the upcoming season, with the Browns adding depth to the position by signing Derek Barnett to a one-year contract.
Thomas (ankle) is active against the Steelers on Sunday, Kelsey Russo of the Browns' official site reports.
An ankle injury limited Thomas' practice reps during Week 8 prep, but the seventh-year pro was cleared by medical staff to play Sunday. He has seven tackles (four solo) across five regular-season games while serving mostly on special teams.
Hall (ankle) does not have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Steelers, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
Hall missed Cleveland's pass three contests while dealing with an ankle injury. He logged a pair of limited practices to begin Week 8 prep before upgrading to full participation Friday, and he has been cleared to return Sunday. Hall likely will work in a rotational role at defensive tackle.
Hickman registered 10 tackles (six solo) and a fumble recovery during Sundays' 27-24 win over Tennessee.
Hickman and Quincy Williams co-led the Browns in tackles Sunday, with the former playing every defensive snap for the sixth time this season. Hickman's 10 tackles were his most of the season, and the fourth-year safety is up to 41 tackles (19 solo), including 1.0 sacks, two pass defenses (including one interception) and two fumble recoveries through seven regular-season contests.
